Psychological trauma experienced by children can have long-lasting and devastating effects on their mental health and well-being.

Children who are exposed to violence, abuse, or other traumatic events may experience symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

These experiences can also affect their ability to form healthy relationships, to learn and to thrive in other areas of life. It is essential that we recognize children’s psychological health as a humanitarian need, and provide the necessary support and resources to help them heal.

Addressing the psychological trauma experienced by children requires a holistic approach that takes into account their physical, emotional, and social needs. This includes providing access to mental health services, creating safe and supportive environments, and addressing the root causes of violence and conflict. It also requires acknowledging the importance of children’s rights and their voices in decision-making processes.

We at the Europe Peace Foundation recognize and understand the psychological trauma experienced by children, we can help to create a more just and compassionate world that supports the health and well-being of all its members.
