In order for us to achieve Global Peace we must protect women’s right

The Europe Peace Foundation is firmly committed to promoting gender equality and upholding the rights of women worldwide. We are deeply concerned about recent legislation in the United States and any other measures that restrict or deny a woman’s right to access safe and legal abortion. These regressive policies not only infringe upon women’s human rights but also undermine our collective efforts to achieve global peace by 2030.

The right to access safe and legal abortion is a fundamental component of gender equality, reproductive justice, and bodily autonomy. Denying women this right is a clear violation of their human rights, including the right to life, liberty, and security of person. It perpetuates gender-based discrimination and denies women the ability to make decisions about their own bodies and lives.

The Europe Peace Foundation firmly believes that true peace and stability can only be achieved when all individuals, regardless of their gender, have equal rights and opportunities. Gender-based discrimination, including restrictions on reproductive rights, hinders progress toward a just and peaceful world. It is imperative that we address these issues through peaceful means, including legal avenues and advocacy initiatives, to challenge and overturn discriminatory laws and policies.

Instead of divisive approaches, we encourage collaborative efforts to promote gender equality and protect women’s rights. By fostering dialogue, raising awareness, and engaging in peaceful activism, we can collectively work towards dismantling barriers, ensuring reproductive rights, and creating inclusive societies that respect and empower all individuals.

The Europe Peace Foundation calls upon governments, policymakers, and civil society organizations to prioritize the elimination of gender-based discrimination and the protection of women’s reproductive rights. We advocate for the promotion of comprehensive sexuality education, access to reproductive healthcare, and the provision of support systems for women facing difficult circumstances. These initiatives are essential for advancing gender equality, promoting women’s health and well-being, and ultimately fostering a more peaceful and just world for all.
