Statement by President Sappan KC on Israel and Lebanon conflict

Friday, September 20, 2024 – Thousands of civilians, including children, have been affected, sustaining injuries, many of which are severe, following the detonation of communication devices such as pagers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Continuous Israeli airstrikes and Hezbollah rocket attacks have resulted in casualties on both sides of the border.

I advocate for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah and emphasize the necessity for de-escalation as tensions persist along the Lebanese-Israeli border.

I have previously urged all governments and parties involved in the Middle East conflict to engage in a peace process, as peace remains the only viable solution; no one emerges victorious from war.

I seek to initiate peace talks across the entire Middle East in alignment with my Global Peace 2030 agenda.
