Mr. KC’s Statement on Violence in Darfur, Sudan, and Call for Dialogue and Lasting Peace

Statement

Monday, 13 October 2025 – I strongly condemn the attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on a shelter in the Sudanese city of Al-Fashir, located in the Darfur region, which have killed dozens of civilians.

I call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Al-Fashir, the protection of civilians, and the facilitation of safe, unhindered, and sustained humanitarian access.

Enough is enough. Life in Sudan, especially in Al-Fashir, has been dominated by violence, hunger, and disease. On average, 30 people are losing their lives daily due to this crisis. The RSF siege has caused widespread hunger and disease, while relentless drone and artillery strikes continue to hit displacement shelters, mosques, hospitals, and clinics.

I am ready to mediate for lasting peace in Sudan and call on all parties to engage in dialogue to halt hostilities and return to negotiations for a sustainable political solution. This aligns with my Global Peace 2030 initiative. The people of Sudan deserve lasting peace, stability, and development—no more violence, hunger, or disease.
