Mr. KC’s Statement on Violence in Uganda: A Call for Lasting Peace

Mr. KC’s Statement on Violence in Uganda: A Call for Lasting Peace

Statement
29 October 2026 – People in parts of Uganda and its border regions have lived with armed violence and insecurity for too long. The killings, displacement and destruction must end. My position is clear: Uganda needs lasting peace so that its people can live without fear and the country can move forward.

I again appeal to the Government of Uganda and all parties involved in violence, both within the country and across its borders, to protect civilians, end hostilities and come to the peace table. No grievance can justify continued violence against innocent people.

Through my Global Peace 2030 initiative, I hope Uganda will embrace my “Peaceful Nation” proposal and take practical steps towards peace, reconciliation and national unity.

The people of Uganda want security, happiness and a better future for their children. Their wish for lasting peace is what I continue to work for through Global Peace 2030.
