Mr. KC’s Statement on the Ongoing Unrest and Execution of Protesters in Iran

Statement

Tuesday, January 13, 2026 – I am deeply concerned about the thousands of people feared dead following nationwide anti-government protests in Iran. This is completely unacceptable. I condemn the violence and urge an immediate halt to the crackdown on protesters.

I am also extremely concerned by reports that Iranian authorities plan to execute protesters in the coming hours, which is wholly unacceptable.

The loss of life is deeply troubling and underscores the urgent need for restraint, accountability, and respect for human dignity. I have repeatedly raised my voice regarding the actions of the Iranian leadership, which has systematically silenced its own people. There is a severe lack of respect for fundamental human rights. Iranian authorities continue to treat their citizens inhumanely, while many Iranians live under extremely difficult social and economic conditions.

The people of Iran are demanding their fundamental rights: freedom of expression, the ability to peacefully raise their voices, economic development, employment opportunities, and lasting peace. These legitimate demands align fully with my Global Peace 2030 Agenda, which stands for dignity, justice, and peace for all.

Violence against civilians is never acceptable. The international community must not remain silent.
