Mr. KC’s Statement on Violence in the Republic of Niger, Offering Mediation for Peace
Statement
Thursday, January 29, 2026 – I am deeply concerned by the ongoing crisis in the Republic of Niger, as reports of heavy gunfire and explosions have emerged from the capital, Niamey. Any form of violence is unacceptable and must stop immediately.
I strongly call for an end to all ongoing fighting and violence, which has caused displacement, fear, and suffering among the people of Niger. I urge all parties involved in the conflict to cease hostilities and come to the peace table, choosing dialogue over destruction and cooperation over conflict.
I stand ready to offer my mediation and full support to facilitate a peaceful resolution and contribute to lasting stability in this beautiful nation.
The people of Niger seek only lasting peace, development, decent employment, and access to free health care and education. These aspirations align with my Global Peace 2030 Agenda, which is rooted in dignity, opportunity, and peace for all.
– Sappan KC, President / Global Peace 2030
