Statement by KC on Violence in the Thailand-Cambodia Border Area – Urging Permanent Peace

Statement

Thursday, 18 September 2025 – As reported by the media, tensions along the Thailand–Cambodia border have regrettably escalated, with reports indicating that Thai forces opened fire on Cambodian civilians in a disputed area. The incident occurred in Ban Nong Ya Kaew village, Sa Kaeo Province, Thailand and in Prey Chan village, Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia.

I earnestly call upon both nations to exercise maximum restraint and to engage in constructive dialogue aimed at de-escalating the present situation. I firmly believe that diplomacy remains the most effective and sustainable path toward resolving disputes and advancing our shared aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity.

Once again, I urge both Thailand and Cambodia to prioritize dialogue, maintain composure and restraint, and refrain from actions that could further inflame this sensitive issue. Together, let us remain committed to building trust and working toward the realization of Global Peace 2030.
