Statement of the Europe Peace Foundation on the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

October 23, 2025
Madrid Spain

From the Europe Peace Foundation, we express our deep distress at the intensifying humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza, where millions are caught in a relentless cycle of violence, displacement, and abandonment. The destruction of essential infrastructure, interruptions to water, electricity and health services, and the severely restricted access to humanitarian aid are pushing civilians—especially women, children, and the elderly—to the brink of survival. We firmly believe that without lasting peace, no security can endure, and no purely military solution can end this tragedy. What is urgently needed is genuine commitment from all international actors to establish safe humanitarian corridors, protect civilians, uphold international humanitarian law, and foster space for constructive dialogue. We call on European governments, civil society, multilateral institutions, and regional leaders to redouble their efforts to alleviate suffering, restore dignity, and lay the foundations for coexistence grounded in respect, justice, and solidarity. Only by transforming accumulated trauma into a pathway toward reconciliation, hope, and a shared future can we honor the rights and aspirations of present and future generations.
