President KC urgently calls for an end to the bombardment and advocates for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza

Friday, 8 August 2025 – The situation in Gaza is dire, as Israel’s actions have led to severe starvation among the civilian population. We have never witnessed a community suffering from hunger so rapidly and thoroughly. The ongoing Israeli bombardment, coupled with hunger-related fatalities, continues to escalate in Gaza. This tragic loss of life from starvation and the massacres at aid hubs adds to the already staggering toll of over 60,000 Palestinians who have perished due to Israeli military actions.

Currently, widespread starvation, malnutrition, and disease are contributing to a significant increase in hunger-related deaths throughout Gaza, with thousands of children being hospitalized for acute malnutrition over the past three months.

I firmly call for an immediate ceasefire to halt the violence and facilitate the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, aiming to avert starvation.

The moment has arrived to conclude the conflict in Gaza. I once again implore all involved parties to work towards a permanent and sustainable ceasefire to end the hostilities.
