Statement

Friday, December 19, 2025 – I am deeply concerned about the violent protests that have erupted in Bangladesh following the death of a youth leader.

I urge the Government of Bangladesh to take all necessary measures to prevent further violence and to bring an end to the ongoing political crisis. The people of Bangladesh want lasting peace, political stability, development, employment opportunities, and access to free healthcare and education.

These aspirations align with my Global Peace 2030 Agenda, which emphasizes peace, stability, and inclusive development for all.
