PRESIDENT KC CONCLUDES HIS PEACE MISSION WITH A PRESS CONFERENCE FOR LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL MEDIA IN JUBA

15 September 2026 – Following his official visit to Juba, President Mr. Sappan KC Hum held a press conference with local and international media on 16 September 2026, marking the conclusion of his peace mission to the Republic of South Sudan.
Throughout the visit, the South Sudanese media provided significant coverage of President Mr. Sappan KC Hum’s peace mission. Although many media outlets in South Sudan still have limited digital reach, he expressed hope that his proposal for the “Declaration of South Sudan as a Peaceful Nation” would receive wider national and international attention.
President KC’s high-level meetings produced two particularly encouraging developments:
First, His Excellency Emmanuel Adil Anthony, Governor of Central Equatoria State, accepted President KC’s proposal and declared Central Equatoria a “State of Peace.”
Second, during the parliamentary meeting, the Right Honourable Speaker confirmed that Parliament would move forward with the adoption of President KC’s proposal for the “Declaration of South Sudan as a Peaceful Nation,” together with the broader agenda of his Global Peace 2030 initiative, at an upcoming parliamentary session.
These represent important and historic steps towards lasting peace, reconciliation, national unity, and a peaceful future for the people of South Sudan.
