International Day of Peace: Mr. KC Calls on the World to Join the “Peaceful Nation” Pathway of Global Peace 2030

21 September 2026 — Today, on the International Day of Peace, also known as World Peace Day, I call upon all countries affected by conflict, war and violence to join the “Peaceful Nation” pathway of Global Peace 2030.

Every country has a responsibility to work towards lasting peace by 2030. I firmly believe that countries currently experiencing conflict and violence can join the international community of peaceful nations by committing themselves to dialogue, reconciliation, non-violence and sustainable development.

During my official visits to the Republic of Kenya and the Republic of South Sudan, I presented my proposals for their declaration as “Peaceful Nations” under Global Peace 2030. In South Sudan, Central Equatoria has already been declared a “State of Peace,” while Juba is moving towards becoming a “City of Peace.” The proposal for the declaration of South Sudan as a “Peaceful Nation” is also being advanced.

The International Day of Peace must not be limited to ceremonies and celebrations. Although governments and organisations around the world continue to undertake important peacebuilding efforts, much more urgent and united action is required. This is why I initiated Global Peace 2030: to provide a clear pathway through which countries can formally commit themselves to peace.

I believe that achieving peace in every country is possible when there is genuine political will, cooperation and commitment.

On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, I call upon governments, political leaders, armed groups and all parties involved in conflict and violence to come to the negotiating table and join the Global Peace 2030 agenda.

Peace is the only solution.
